<\/a>Last weekend we kicked off our first event for our Women\u2019s Year for Beer<\/a> with a Ladies Who Brew session. Representatives\u00a0of the Community Foundation of Eastern CT’s \u00a0Windham Area Women & Girls Fund (WWGF) joined David and Stephanie, a brewer from Relic Brewing<\/a> in the brewery. Leigh Duffy, Lee Terry, Mary Weinland, Lilli Rhodes and Toni Moran of WWGF rolled up their sleeves and assisted in brewing a brand new IPA. The ladies worked up a sweat heading the arduous task of adding local Connecticut malts to boiling water in the mash tun and continuously stirring the quickly thickening mixture.<\/p>\n

This IPA will be debuted at our first FILL-anthropic event, held from 6pm till 9pm in our Post Master\u2019s Office on Wednesday, March 8th. Attendees will have the opportunity to make a cash donation to the WWGF in exchange for the chance to offer a name suggestion for this collaborative IPA! A portion of the sales of this beer will also be donated to the WWGF until supplies run out.<\/p>\n

The Windham Area Women and Girls Fund\u2019s mission is to break through challenges that hold women back, and, to help build a brighter future for women and girls in the Windham area. A division of the Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut, the WWGF works to reduce domestic violence, improve services for the elderly, increase economic security and enhances youth development.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
